Obama Campaign Stifles Free Speech At University Rally

Posted by Platte GOP in Untagged

Link to article at NewsBusters.com

The candidate of change, the shining proponent of a "new way" in national politics, says that you aren't allowed to bring a sign to his rally. So much for the right of free political speech. To add insult to injury, this rally was held at the publicly funded University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. So, now the government is lending the weight of its authority to squelch free speech. So, where is the hew and cry about this unAmerican activity? Did the media even note this heavy-handed policy?

Platte GOP at the RNC

Posted by Platte GOP in Campaign News

Platte County Republicans Rebecca Rooney and Barbara Milton attended the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota from September 1-4.  "It was like being in Times Square on New Year's Eve," Rooney said.

Both Rooney and Milton were excited to watch Governor Sarah Palin give her acceptance speech.  "I was absolutely blown away.  I've never felt so empowered," Milton commented.  "Sarah really lit a fire," Rooney added.  Members of the Missouri delegation, like Rooney, met with the Kansas delegation on Wednesday.  The women mostly networked with other delegates and watched speeches during the convention.

McCain-Palin yard signs will be available at the GOP Headquarters located a 6720 Tower Drive in Platte Woods soon.  Local Republicans are organizing volunteers now for the final few weeks to work phone banks and walk neighborhoods to get out the vote.  Interested volunteers are encouraged to call the GOP Headquarters at 816-505-1994.
