Park Hill Poised to Raise Taxes…Again
Calendar, Events, Featured, In The News, News
For the fourth time in four years, the Park Hill School Board is trying to raise taxes. Park Hill’s administration has once again recommended increasing the operating levy. The tax increase recommended by the superintendent goes above and beyond what is necessary to fully fund the district budget adopted just two months ago.
Park Hill raised taxes in 2010 and 2012. As recently as April 8, 2014, the Park Hill School Board tried to raise the district’s tax ceiling another 32 cents. Voters soundly rejected the plan, with 61% voting “no.”
A hearing on the tax increase has been set for 7:00 pm on August 28, 2014, at the District Office located at 7703 NW Barry Rd., Kansas City,Missouri. In 2010 and 2012, no one addressed the Board and they raised taxes. In 2011, three local Republicans spoke out against increasing taxes and taxes were not raised. Your voice matters. Let the Park Hill School Board hear that taxes in the district are already too high!
